OPPO Reno on 5G

OPPO Reno on 5G

2019 is the year 5G becomes a reality and Reno is 5G ready. With relentless testing and fine-tuning, multiple technical difficulties associated with antennae and radio frequencies have been eliminated for an accelerated, low-latency communication experience.

Imagine downloading a HD movie over a coffee break. How about live streaming a high-resolution video to your friends in a packed-out concert venue with no lag? This is what OPPO 5G technology is now capable of.

OPPO will collaborate with industry-leading software developers to explore 5G cloud gaming. In addition, OPPO 5G smartphones will serve as an enabler of ‘intelligent connectivity’ – the fusion of 5G, AI and IOT bridging people to world of immersive entertainment, enhanced public services and even more.

Seize the Night with Ultra Night Mode 2.0

Reno 5G is equipped with a Sony IMX 586 48MP ultra-clear camera. Its 1/2.0” ultra-large sensors and f/1.7 ultra-large aperture combine with MFNR and HDR software algorithms, protecting users from over-exposure and create stunning detail in low-light conditions. The new addition of AI portrait optimization for night photography can differentiate between subject and background, ensuring the skin tone is still the same and delivering a professional photo.

Hi, Reno

The front camera, Front-facing Soft Light, receiver and rear flash are all cleverly housed within the compact rising structure. The pivot structure movement is incredibly intricate, first moving fast then slow. Less mechanical, more graceful. All of this is accomplished in 0.8s and in absolute silence.

THE GOOD: It’s very fast. We’ve already seen the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G hit over 1.2Gbps in controlled tests, but the Oppo Reno 5G hitting a peak of 1.958 Gbps downstream. Optical zoom stabilises well. 10x “hybrid” zoom Completely uninterrupted OLED displayNo ugly notch or Hole on screen Very fast fingerprint unlock. In-Screen  fingerprint sensor is quick and easy to use THE BAD: No water resistance. Due to the pop up design of front camera, the phone does not have good water resistance. No wireless charging. Unlike other flagship model, this phone does not have Qi wireless charging. 5G isn’t everywhere yet. Telstra will be the first 5G carrier to stock the Oppo Reno 5G (Optus, we’re told, will launch it later once its 5G network is ready) but its coverage maps for actual 5G service are still quite small.
