We recommend looking at the battery life first. Batteries are considered consumable parts meaning their health and capacity will decline with use and age. If your phone isn’t charging past a certain percentage, this is the first place we look. A battery that needs to be replaced will likely not exceed 80% of fully charged even when left in the port.
We recommend cleaning the charging port with a clean, dry cloth. Please do not use water or chemicals, this may damage the internal mechanisms of the phone.
If the power button on your phone doesn’t work, we recommend doing a soft reset of your phone. Fortunately, this trick won’t remove any personal data or details–but it’s the fastest way to reset a phone and potential software glitch.
If the button is still not responding, check for potential water damage or debris around the device. Water damage may affect the internal mechanisms of the phone and button responsiveness. Sticky substances, crumbs, or other debris may also affect how well the phone button responds to clicking. When there is no discernible cause, we recommend bringing your phone into our Sunshine Coast-based mobile phone repair shop for review.
